Project Coordinator

Are you adventurous and looking for a new role in a start-up in the maritime sector?

CoWaves offers services primarily to companies operating in the maritime industry, with the aim of achieving operational excellence through collaborative efforts. We strive to provide relatable and accessible support to our clients to help them achieve their project goals. Our comprehensive approach to each project is based on conversation and open dialogue.

At CoWaves, we are not afraid of making significant decisions, even in a chaotic environment. We maintain honesty and a cool head in the face of challenges, and we approach our work with a positive attitude and a smile.

Do you have the feeling that you can take (more) responsibility? Read on …

What are you going to do?

We focus on three primary areas: Project Management, Process Management, and Progress & Data Collection, with the goal of helping each client achieve their objectives. Our services encompass Investigation, Plan Creation, Implementation, and Recommendation, and we can provide assistance in any or all stages of a project, from tender to execution, using an organized and efficient approach.

As a project engineer, project planner, or PMO, we expect you to possess the experience and skills to start a new project independently and provide valuable insights. You should not only be capable of collecting the appropriate data but also able to offer advice to the organization on potential improvements for both the project and the organization.

Given the number of tasks you are expected to undertake in a brief period, we anticipate that you have ambitions to become an (assistant) project manager eventually. This role requires a combination of expertise in project content and an ability to understand the people involved in the projects, serving as a connector between the two areas.

The projects we undertake are extensive, lasting between 6 to 24 months (about 2 years) and involving over 15 stakeholders. Such projects require significant decision-making abilities, the ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic environment and work under pressure. You should be able to work with this intensity level, maintain focus, and inspire your team to remain enthusiastic.

Our projects are distributed throughout the Netherlands, additionally it is also possible that you may be involved in multiple projects concurrently. We are also looking to expand our operations outside the Netherlands in the future.

In summary, you should possess a mindset that considers opportunities for our organization. As a start-up, we seek ambitious individuals who are eager to work collaboratively with us and contribute to our organization’s growth.

What are we looking for in our new colleague?

  • A completed college or university (technical) degree.

  • Experience in and affinity with the maritime sector.
  • Not afraid to take responsibility and easily roll up your sleeves.
  • An independent worker and someone who knows how to start up a new task or assignment.
  • A team player who likes to work with other people, that means that you will be able to switch between team and individual work.
  • Even when the pressure increases, you can remain focused and separate main- and side issues.
  • Eager to learn and ambitious to grow.
  • An honest colleague that stands up for his/her opinion and will not back down from a confrontation.
  • An American Passport is a benefit.
  • You are eligible to work in the EU.
